Submission Rules
1. Articles submitted to İFADE for publication are first analysed by the editor of the journal in terms of objective, subject, content and spelling rules, and their suitability is evaluated. Articles found suitable by the editor are sent to two referees who are recognised in their field for scientific evaluation, with the names of the authors withheld. Blind referee policy is applied in this process. If both referee reports are positive, the article is published in the journal. If one of the referee reports is positive and the other is negative, the manuscript is sent to a third referee. Authors are obliged to take into account the criticism, suggestions and correction requests of the referees. The final decision regarding the publication of the articles in the journal belongs to the editorial board.
2. Articles must be original works that have not been published elsewhere. Apart from these, the journal also accepts submissions such as book reviews, proceedings, translations, etc. Papers submitted to the journal can be in Turkish or English.
3. For the proceedings sent to the journal, it should be specified at which conference, where and when the paper was presented.
4. For translated texts to be sent to the journal, permission must be obtained from the editor of the journal in which the article is published and the original text must be sent to the journal together with the translation.
5. Detailed writing rules for the papers to be submitted to the journal are included in the journal writing template. Submitted texts should be edited according to the journal writing template.
6. Cover page and copyright agreement form must be filled in for all submissions to the journal.
7. Author information should not be included in the article files sent for review.
8. Articles should be prepared using Microsoft Word software.
9. It is required to follow the order of title, abstract, keywords, introduction, main text (method-findings, if any), discussion and conclusion.
10. Articles submitted to the journal should not exceed 8000 words including footnotes and bibliography.
11. The abstract should not exceed 200 words.
12. All articles in the text; Times New Roman 11 font size, justified, 1 line spacing should be used.
13. The main title and subheadings of the article should be bold and the first letter of the words should be capitalised.
14. Quotations exceeding 40 words should be written one centimetre inside, as a block, single-spaced and in 11 pt.
15. The authors are responsible for the copyrights of tables, figures, photographs, illustrations and long quotations published elsewhere.
16. In accordance with the co-operation between DergiPark and intihal.net, a similarity report is mandatory for article submissions. Authors will be informed at the article submission steps, a similarity report will be prepared at the file upload step and the result will be notified to the author by e-mail. When the result of the report is announced, the author will be able to complete the submission process. In order for the studies to be evaluated, the plagiarism report must be 20% or less. The rate of utilisation of the same study should be maximum 3%. Studies with a similarity rate above these rates will be rejected during the preliminary evaluation process.
17. APA 7.0 version citation method is used within the scope of the journal.
18. Articles that do not comply with the above-mentioned rules are accepted to the evaluation process only after the necessary arrangements are made.
Guidelines for Citations and References
Citing References in the Text
All references should be given in parentheses in the main text with the author's name, year of publication and page numbers. If the study is in Turkish, the page number should be given as in the examples s. 5, s. 24, do not use p. 5, p. 24.
- Quotations longer than 40 words in the text should be given as indented paragraphs without using quotation marks.
- Double quotation marks should be used for direct quotations not exceeding 40 words in the text.
- When referencing, if the author's name is not mentioned in the text, the author's surname and date of publication should be indicated in parentheses: (Turner, 2015).
- If the author's name is not mentioned in the text and a specific page is in question: (Jay, 2005, p. 161) (Aydın, 2023, p. 14).
- If there are non-consecutive pages in the text: (Kejanlıoğlu, 2005: pp. 20-8, 65-9).
- In sources with two authors, both authors' surnames should be used: (Herman & Chomsky, 2012).
- If there are more than three authors, it should be written as ‘et al.’ (Lee et al., 2008).
- If more than one work of the same author published in the same year is used, letters such as a, b, c should be added to the year of publication: (Hall, 1998a), (Hall, 1998b).
- If more than one source is consulted on the same subject, the sources should be separated from each other with semicolons: (Jay, 2005, p. 149 Therborn, 2015, p. 21).
- In the references list, only the references cited in the text should be included. These references should be listed alphabetically. If more than one work of an author is to be included in the list, the publication date should be ordered from past to present.
Citing in the Bibliography
The bibliography must be created in alphabetical order according to the surname of the first authors of the works according to APA 7.0 rules.

- If the book has DOI number, add the DOI information after the publisher information.
- Do not add the publisher location information.
- If an e-book does not have a DOI, add the URL.
